About Artist
Farnaz Nadim is a visual artist and illustrator born and raised in Tehran, Iran. She discovered her love for art when she started oil painting during high school. It led her to Kashan Art School where she learned about Persian art and design. She completed her M.A. in Graphic Design at Tarbiat Modarres University in 2008, and began her career as an art instructor, when the Iran Academy of Art awarded her M.A. thesis as the best art thesis.
Farnaz became fascinated by children’s books when read to her kids. She started her journey in children’s books designing novelty books based on her Graphic knowledge. But she wanted to go further and explore picture books illustrating, so she took some illustration classes, and In 2019 was accepted as a member of Iranian Illustrators Society.
After moving to the United States in 2020 with her husband and two children Farnaz decided to peruse her dream of becoming a full time illustrator. She joined SCBWI and taught herself by using their resources. During this time Farnaz honed her skills, developed her illustration portfolio and is currently working on her debut picture book.

Farnaz lives in Anaheim ,California with her artist husband and two children. Her recent achievements include winning the first place in 2024 SCBWI-SoCal calendar design contest, obtaining Honorable Mention in 2024 PB Rising Stars, as well Honorable Mention in KidLit411 Banner Design Contest.
